It was Read Across America week at St. Mary's School. 3K celebrated dressing up wacky on Tuesday and wearing silly socks on Thursday! We also did a green eggs and ham science experiment with baking soda and vinegar. The students enjoyed watching the reaction between the two substances!
Reminder: March 16th 3K is dressing in green for St. Patrick's Day :)

This week is all about the letter V! On Tuesday the students made the letter V using stickers. What child doesn't like stickers, right? On Thursday, the 3K class did a scavenger hunt for letter V items. The students really enjoy these!
Friendly Reminders! Next week is Read Across America Week! Tuesday March 7th is all about Dr. Seuss. Your child is welcome to dress wacky along with the rest of the school. On Thursday, March 9th, it is Crazy Sock Day! Students may wear some cool socks they feel are crazy. :) Also Tuesday, March 7th, is bring a bear to school day! Spring Break is March 20-March 24! Today 3K cooked up some green eggs and ham, inspired by Dr. Seuss himself! The kids had some fun stirring up the pudding mixture. This cooking experience tied all different subjects into one lesson: social, science, and math. :) Stay tuned for more Dr. Seuss fun!
Today the importance of play was seen throughout the 3K classroom. I had so much fun watching the children pretend to watch their favorite show on the calculator ( their pretend tablet) and build with soft blocks.

This week in school we are learning about the letter N and having some fun for Valentine's Day. The students love the parachute, so Tuesday we will being doing some of that to get the kids moving. It is also National Dental Month and 3K will do a tooth craft on Thursday. We have been talking a lot about how to keep our teeth healthy in class so encourage and ask your child what they know about it! Important Dates: Feb. 21st is Show-N-Share Feb. 23rd Scholastic is Due! The kids had a blast at the Cake Walk today! They tried their luck at the cake walk and played games. We also had some fun in class. We made letters out of candy hearts and were bakers for dramatic play!
Some 3K students enjoyed bowling last Friday to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. I think they were most excited for the bus ride! :)
Since it was too cold to go outside, we brought the snow inside! The 3K students had a blast painting the snow and making snow cones. Also Catholic School week was a success! We had fun dressing up for Twin Day and Formal Wear Day! Thank you to Laura Walczyk for bringing in ice cream for a 3K ice cream social.

This day is also our Valentine's Party. Feel free to bring in Valentines to pass then. This week is Catholic Schools week! Tuesday is Twin Day and Thursday is Formal Wear. Your child is welcome to dress up and join the fun. Friday is the bowling field trip! Please be here by 10:55! The bus will leave at 11.
Our 3K letter of the week is letter R. We will discuss what teeth are used for and do a fun guessing game for dental health month. Thursday is Groundhog Day! 3K will be making a groundhog puppet. Scholastic Order is due by Feb. 23rd! Also the Cake Walk is next Thursday! Please bring in some quarters for games and a cake to pass. Practicing our cutting skills in 3K!
